WASHINGTON, DC: Google has launched Hindi advertisements across its AdSense network with the goal of reaching over 500 million Hindi speakers across the world.
Dushyant Khare, Google’s head of Partner Business Solutions in India & Southeast Asia, said, “We hope that this launch will give a boost to the growth of the Hindi web and will encourage the creation of a whole new wave of online Hindi content.”
Google has been steadfastly increasing its presence to both Indian nationals and internationals.
Last month the company launched the Indian Language Internet Alliance, which is a conglomeration assembled to promote Indian-language content on the web.
Google’s immediate goal is to lead 300 million Indian language speakers online by the year 2017. To that effect, Google recently established a website geared specifically towards Hindi content as well as Hindi voice search capabilities.
The moves are part of Google’s efforts to catalyze the growth of Indic languages on an international scale and extend support to more languages around the world.
Google explained in a statement.“Starting today, marketers will be able to advertise to India’s booming online population in the most widely spoken local language– Hindi.â€
