Glitch identified but not fixed. Â

Skype has been working to get its service back up and running for many users since about 4 a.m. Eastern Time, reported Gizmodo, as of 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
Skype, Microsoft’s online telephone and video conferencing service, said it identified the glitch that prevented some users from making calls, and is working to resolve the issue.
Skype said on Monday that some users are unable to make calls because their settings showed that they and their contacts are offline, even when they are logged in, according to Reuters.
Skype added that users could experience delays in seeing changes made to their accounts, such as credit balance and profile details, and that the issue is not affecting Skype for Business users.
Finally, users may encounter difficulties loading pages on the Skype Community site, which displays announcements and provides a support forum for users.
As of the time of publication, it would appear many users are still having problems.
However, CNet has offered a workaround of sorts:
The problem is affecting the mobile and desktop versions of Skype, but not the Web version. Currently in beta mode, Skype for the Web supports Windows with Internet Explorer 10 or higher as well as the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox, and the Mac with Safari 6 or higher.
The Web version does require you to install a plug-in. But once you’ve set up the app, you can change your status from offline to online via the web interface. Of course, your fellow contacts also need to be able to go online. So you may still be limited in your ability to call certain people.
Aside from acknowledging the issue, Skype has yet to release any further information regarding when the fix would be complete.
