More than 500 people, among them members of Congress, Obama administration officials, diplomats and prominent Indian Americans, gathered at Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC, on January 3 to celebrate the swearing-in of five Indian American members of Congress.
Four of the five lawmakers — Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA), Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Rep. Pramila Jaypal ((D-WA) and Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) — were also present at the event.
