Gumloop, a no-code platform enabling anyone to automate workflows with AI, has announced a $17 million Series A funding round. Led by Nexus Venture Partners, the round also saw participation from First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and notable angel investors like Max Mullen (Instacart), Shaan Puri, Bryant Chou (Webflow), and Reynold Xin (Databricks). This funding brings Gumloop’s total capital raised to $20 million.
Gumloop was founded in April 2023 by McGill University classmates Max Brodeur-Urbas and Rahul Behal. Initially named AgentHub, the company changed its name to Gumloop in May 2023 to make it sound more accessible to non-developers. The startup began as a side project aimed at solving simple problems for a Discord community. Today, it has grown into a platform used by thousands of users, ranging from indie hackers to enterprise teams at companies like Instacart, Webflow, Rippling, and Fortune 100s.

Brodeur-Urbas and Behal, former engineers from Microsoft and AWS respectively, recognized that while AI struggled with highly specialized tasks, it excelled in automating simpler, repetitive workflows. Gumloop capitalizes on this, offering a user-friendly workflow builder that integrates with popular apps like GitHub, Gmail, and Outlook.
The startup focuses on automating workflows using artificial intelligence (AI) through a no-code platform, allowing users to integrate various applications and streamline tasks easily. Gumloop empowers non-technical users to create AI-powered automations without relying on engineers. Examples of these automations include competitor ad analysis, email invoice processing, LinkedIn outreach, video-to-blog generation, and customer research. The platform’s mission is to make AI automation accessible, secure, powerful, and shareable.
Users can create custom automations or use prebuilt pipelines for various business tasks. “Using AI to code has allowed us to operate with the efficiency of a much larger team and outpace our competitors,” said Brodeur-Urbas. “Our vision is to be a 10-person, billion-dollar company, focusing on delivering the best possible product for our users.”

The founders emphasize that raising capital isn’t the ultimate goal. Instead, it’s about building a product that people love and enabling businesses to harness the power of AI without technical barriers. In a recent blog post, Brodeur-Urbas writes: “We believe that in the not-so-distant future, anyone will be able to have the impact of an AI engineer, regardless of technical background. Understanding a problem will be the only prerequisite to solving it.”
