The World Food Movement (WFM), a trailblazing nonprofit initiative devoted to serving fresh, wholesome meals, is launching its student and community feeding program in the United States on Sept. 28 at the iconic Victoria Theatre, NJPAC, Newark, New Jersey.
WFM aspires to engage communities nationwide by feeding nutritious meals that fuel students and neighborhoods, enabling wellbeing and forging unbreakable bonds of support across America.
The event will feature eminent guests, highlighted by Consul General Binaya Srikanta Pradhan. Joining the roster are Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, visionary co-founder and vice chairman, and Dr. Siva Sivaram, National Board Member, alongside influential leaders from across America.

“We are happy to launch World Food Movement in the U.S. to serve the students and other communities of this wonderful country,” Dasa said, further adding, “We believe it is essential for citizens to be well-nourished to thrive and engage effectively in nation-building. We are committed to promoting well-being, providing dignity and making a difference in people’s lives.”
WFM has initiated projects in New Jersey, New York, and California, and plans to increase its national outreach in due course. Dasa emphasized that WFM is ready to team up with government agencies, philanthropic changemakers, corporate powerhouses, dynamic entrepreneurs, and compassionate citizens to serve up generous, nourishing meals and fuel a healthier, happier nation.
Adding a burst of culture to the occasion, the launch will spotlight a live performance from Abby V, the globally renowned, multi-award-winning vocalist and composer, celebrated for his electrifying fusion of classical and modern music styles. Far more than just an event, the launch kicks off a movement to weave care, unity, and vitality through WFM’s feeding programs.

Since launching its global footprint in 2020 with flagship kitchen in the United Kingdom, serving over 800,000 meals to children and students, Akshaya Patra has also provided critical food relief in war-torn and disaster-stricken regions including Nepal, Turkey, and Ukraine.
Its cutting-edge, ISO-certified kitchens, capable of producing up to 100,000 meals daily, have become case studies at prestigious institutions like Harvard, Stanford, and London Business School, earning accolades from global icons such as former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
