Boston Global Forum (BGF), a leading policy forum has named Vibhav Kant Upadhyay, chairman of India Center Foundation as its India representative based in New Delhi.
Former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis, Co-founder and Chair of BGF, welcomed the appointment, recognizing Upadhyay’s distinguished record of leadership and innovation, according to a media release.
Through his work at the India Center Foundation, Upadhyay has advanced transformative initiatives connecting India with the Indo-Pacific and the global community.
As BGF’s Representative in India, Upadhyay will play a key role in advancing initiatives such as AIWS Government 24/7, the Boston Finance Accord, AIWS Digital Assets, the BGF–AIWS Family, and the Shinzo Abe Initiative.
His leadership will strengthen BGF’s collaboration with India and reinforce the shared mission of building a more peaceful, democratic, and ethical world in the Age of AI, according to the release.
“Upadhyay’s vision and leadership will help bring India’s voice and creativity into global dialogues on peace, governance, and innovation,” said Dukakis. “We are honored to have him represent BGF in India.”
Upadhyay is a development leader known for his statesmanship, macro-vision and pragmatism. He is the Founder and Chairman of various organizations including the Alternative Development Organisation (ADO) in Oslo, Norway, India-Japan Foundation (IJF) Tokyo, Japan and India Center Foundation (ICF) New Delhi.
He is also the Founder Chairman of Global Partnership Summit (GPS), a platform to take forward the Alternative Development Model (ADM) framework and initiatives based on it by manifesting unique ideas into tangible outcomes by empowering G2G, G2B and B2B interaction.
The organizations take forward seminal, innovative initiatives to establish ADM around the world focusing on areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, education, environment and social justice.
Born in Agra, India, Upadhyay has a post-graduate degrees from the University of Allahabad and the University of Tokyo.
Upadhyay is prolific in Japanese language besides Hindi and English.
