Vyas will succeed Hari Menon, who has been the India Country Director since 2019, to lead the operations, which will make her the first woman to be in the top position to lead operations in one of its most significant country partnerships.
“India is our most significant country partnership,” Vyas said in the statement.
“I look forward to working closely with governments, communities, philanthropists, and our partners to support the Government of India’s vision of becoming a developed economy by 2047.”

Vyas has been with the foundation since 2014, progressing through various leadership roles in both global and country-specific programs. Most recently, she was appointed Country Director for India, taking on the responsibility of guiding the foundation’s strategy and operations in partnership with government bodies, civil society organizations, philanthropists, academia, and the private sector.

Her leadership in this division emphasized evidence-based policymaking, cross-sector collaboration, and advocacy to influence policy decisions in multiple countries.
Before joining the foundation, Vyas built extensive experience in strategic communications and digital marketing, working across South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa in the private sector. Her educational background includes a master’s degree in physics from the University of Delhi and a postgraduate diploma in business administration from the Institute of Management Technology, reflecting a combination of analytical, technical, and managerial expertise.
