Five9, Inc, provider of the Intelligent CX Platform, has appointed Amit Mathradas, a senior Indian American executive in the commercial technology sector, as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and a director, effective February 2, 2026.
Mathradas will take on the role from Board Chairman Mike Burkland, who will continue to serve on the Board and will work with Mathradas to ensure a smooth transition, San Ramon, California- based company announced.
Until recently, Mathradas served as CEO of Nintex, serving more than 7,000 public and private-sector organizations across over 90 countries. Under his leadership, Nintex built out the company’s AI-centric, agentic business orchestration platform, reflecting his track record of scaling global businesses, driving product innovation, and delivering through a strong partner-led ecosystem.
Prior to that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Avalara, where he helped grow the business by over 250% over the course of four years. Avalara was acquired by Vista Equity Partners in 2022 for $8.4 billion.

An accomplished senior executive in the commercial technology sector with more than two decades of experience leading growth and transformation at global companies, Mathradas is also a recognized thought leader who regularly publishes insights on digital transformation, intelligent automation, and the strategic application of AI in business.
Earlier in his career, Mathradas led and grew global teams at PayPal, Web.com, and Dell. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in management and economics from Wittenberg University.
