A Bloomberg report revealed on Tuesday that Apple is testing a new feature that would let Siri process multiple requests in a single query. This would bring the assistant in line with the capabilities of AI assistants. The feature is being built into iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 operating systems, all of which are expected to launch later this year, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
With the new update, users will no longer have to ask Siri to do something, then pause and ask for something else. So, a command like “Start a timer for 15 minutes, then tell me what the weather is,” will work.

Sources also revealed that at present, certain new Siri features are being labelled internally as “Preview.” This could mean them either coming later than the initial launches of iOS 27 and the others, or it may mean that they are released as beta test versions.
The new development is reportedly part of Apple’s efforts for Siri to catch up with the capabilities of AI chatbots. As part of this, Siri is expected to also work as a chatbot that will summarize internet information through what Apple calls World Knowledge Answers.
While there have been rumors of these features seeing a release alongside iOS 26.4, it now seems more likely Apple would announce the features at WWDC. This likely means the new Siri may be available to developers and beta testers in June 2026 but the public would only be able to use it by September.
Siri’s revamp is a key part of Apple’s efforts to catch up with its competitors in the AI race after its rollout Apple Intelligence in 2024 saw a lukewarm reception.
Apple plans to announce a new version of Siri that transforms the voice assistant into a “systemwide AI agent with deep integration across applications” at WWDC. According to reports, some of the other updates Siri would see include better capability to control other apps and features of iOS and macOS and complete user-requested tasks using their personal data gathered from emails, messages, and notes.

Siri will also be better at summarizing daily news from Apple News and will be able to provide “more detailed responses sourced from the web, including summaries, bullet points and images,” according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Apple is also testing several potential new designs for Siri including placing the assistant at the top of an iPhone’s screen in the Dynamic Island, prompting users with a “Search or Ask” when activated. Once results are ready, the Siri interface will expand into a larger translucent panel that can be further expanded to continue a conversation or make additional inquiries.
