President Donald Trump on Thursday launched a new website, TrumpRx, during an event at the White House, saying it would help patients who pay out of pocket access dozens of prescription drugs at reduced prices.
The site lists 40 medications priced below their previous list rates, a move Trump described as part of the “most transformative health care initiatives.” The administration said the effort is aimed at easing costs for consumers who are uninsured or whose insurance does not adequately cover certain prescriptions.
Trump made the announcement at the White House alongside Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and National Design Studio Director Joe Gebbia, who joined him for the launch event.
“Starting tonight, dozens of the most commonly used prescription drugs will be available at dramatic discounts for all consumers throughout a new website is called TrumpRx.gov,” as per President Trump at the White House event.
Some of the lower cash prices had already been announced by the administration last year, and several of the newly listed prices were already in effect at the time of the launch.

The president credited his Most Favored Nation policies for helping drive the lower prices, saying the approach ensures the United States does not pay more for drugs than other countries. “For years, politicians from both parties have promised to bring down prescription drug prices and make health care more affordable, but they all failed,” Trump stated.
According to information posted on the TrumpRx website, patients can access the listed medications at participating pharmacies by using coupon card codes shown on the site or by purchasing directly through manufacturers’ websites.
An FAQ section clarifies that “TrumpRx discounted pricing is only available for cash-paying patients.” The site adds that the discounts cannot be used with insurance and do not count toward insurance deductibles.
For now, the program covers only a limited number of medications. The website notes in its FAQ that “many more drugs are coming soon.”
Reflecting on this, Benjamin Jolley, PharmD, a senior fellow for health care at the American Economic Liberties Project told ABC News, “It’s nice that they are aggregating coupons in one place. But it’s a convenience to check the website to see the coupons all in one place for the first time.”
“There are a lot of patient assistance programs out there and this appears similar to programs like GoodRX but the difference here is that you would not have to go through the manufacturer’s website to get them,” Dr. Christina Madison, the founder of The Public Health Pharmacist told ABC News.
The TrumpRx website also highlighted what it described as major savings on GLP-1 medications, listing the Wegovy pill at a lowest TrumpRx price of $149 a month, down from an “original” price of $1,349. While the full cash prices of Ozempic and Wegovy, which are FDA approved for weight loss, once topped $1,000 a month, those costs have been gradually declining. The price was first voluntarily cut to $499 in March 2025, then lowered again to $199 in November following negotiations with the federal government.

Even so, some medications on the site remain costly. Xeljaz, for example, is listed with a starting price of $1,518, despite being marketed as a 50% discount. Fertility treatments make up a significant share of the drugs featured on TrumpRx.
The site says Gonal-F is available at an 83% discount, falling from $966 to $168 for the pen. Another IVF medication, Cetrotide, is offered at a 93% discount, while Ovidrel is listed at 67% off.
“One in three families is having trouble having a baby. We’re gonna have a lot of Trump babies with these costs, folks cannot afford these medications. It’s gonna change their lives,” Oz stated during the White House event.
Trump first signaled plans for the website in September, when his administration announced that Pfizer had agreed to cut prices on certain prescription drugs provided through Medicaid. Pfizer has since emerged as the largest participant in TrumpRx, with more than 30 medications listed on the platform.
Last month, Trump unveiled his “Great Healthcare Plan,” which urged Congress to codify the most favored nation initiative. The proposal also called for direct payments to Americans to help them purchase health insurance, along with measures to boost price transparency and increase accountability for insurance companies, though many of the details were left unspecified.
