Moving to accelerate the introduction of its first general purpose robot, global full-stack robotics company Genesis AI has appointed Indian American industry veteran Pally Kumar as its new Head of Operations.
Kumar joins the executive team during a phase of rapid development for the company, which recently emerged as a notable player in physical artificial intelligence with $105 million in seed funding.
In his new role, Kumar will manage the expansion and logistical execution of the company’s manufacturing frameworks and data collection initiatives.
Born in India, Kumar completed his early education there, establishing a foundation in technical problem-solving before moving to the United States to pursue advanced engineering studies. His subsequent career in the American technology sector spans roles across engineering, supply chain management, and program leadership.
Prior to joining Genesis AI, Kumar served as Director of Manufacturing at the robotics company Cobot and held key leadership positions at Tesla, Amazon, and Lyft.
“I have spent my career taking hardware from prototypes to scale at Tesla, Amazon and Cobot, and the pattern is always the same,” said Kumar on his appointment. “The breakthroughs are real, but the companies that win are the ones that build a strong operational backbone behind them.”
At Genesis AI, that operational framework will support large-scale data collection designed to power intelligent robotic systems. The company captures real-world training data by deploying tactile-sensing data gloves into active work environments.

Human workers wear these specialized gloves while executing everyday tasks, allowing the company to map physical dynamics and compile a comprehensive human skill library.
This accumulated dataset directly feeds into the company’s core hardware and software developments. These include GENE-26.5, a proprietary robotic brain designed for human-level physical manipulation, and a dexterous robotic hand.
Kumar is tasked with building the infrastructure necessary to transition these unified technologies from development stages into broader real-world applications.
Genesis AI Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Zhou Xian noted that the new operations chief brings a track record of building execution systems in fast-moving technical environments.
Kumar’s background in handling complex hardware products from early development through large-scale deployment, according to the company, fits its strategy of addressing foundational infrastructure challenges as it scales operations.
