According to an investigation into business and property links involving Sahra Noor, the sister of Rep. Ilhan Omar, and individuals connected to Minnesota’s $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud scandal, based on public records and business incorporation documents.
According to the report, Noor’s consulting company, Grit Partners Consulting, was incorporated at a home in Lakeville, Minnesota, occupied by Mashah Ahmed Ali and his wife, Ister, also known as Ismahan, Ahmed Afraa. The Daily Wire said its review of records found that the address and Afraa were connected to several people convicted or implicated in the federal fraud case.

One of those individuals was Hanna Marekegn, who pleaded guilty in 2022 to wire fraud involving $7 million, according to the report. Business records showed Afraa and Marekegn had jointly incorporated Sunrise Business Center Inc. Afraa also incorporated Sunshine Care Center MN Inc., which listed the same address as Sunrise Business Center.
The report also identified links between Afraa and Aimee Bock, the founder of Feeding Our Future who was sentenced to 41 years in prison in connection with the fraud scheme. Minnesota Department of Health records listed Bock as a point of contact for Sunshine Care Center LLC. The Lakeville property was also listed as the incorporation address for Diversity Childcare Center LLC, with Bock identified as a point of contact.
The Daily Wire further reported that Afraa had business ties to Sahra Nur, another person convicted in the Feeding Our Future case. Nur’s Minneapolis home was reportedly used as the registered address for numerous companies connected to the broader fraud operation.

The investigation comes as a Minnesota legislative committee examines allegations surrounding Omar’s possible connections to the state’s wider fraud scandals. The Daily Wire reported that Democrats in May blocked a subpoena seeking records from Omar. However, the report does not establish that Noor or Omar participated in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme or that either has been charged in connection with it.
Noor has previously said through her business website that Grit Partners has secured more than $20 million in funding for health initiatives. It has also consulted on projects backed by organisations including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USAID, Gavi, and the World Bank. The Daily Wire said Noor did not respond to its request for comment.
Mashah Ahmed Ali, who lives at the Lakeville address, told the Daily Wire he had no knowledge of the companies registered at his home or by his wife, saying that “There must be some sort of scam going on, I have no idea.” He said he had “nothing to do with anything.” Afraa did not respond to a message seeking comment, according to the report.
The latest report adds to political scrutiny surrounding Omar and Minnesota’s fraud investigations, while the specific business and address connections detailed in the investigation remain allegations and do not, on their own, establish criminal conduct by Noor or the congresswoman.
