Conservative activist Laura Loomer said she has no interest in running for president and instead wants to focus on vetting political appointees and protecting an administration from what she described as bad hires and “malicious holdovers.”
In a post on X, Loomer said her preferred role would involve researching and vetting people being considered for positions in a presidential administration.

“I have no desire to run for President. My ideal role would be vetting for the President, working to protect the administration from bad hires and malicious holdovers,” Loomer wrote.
Loomer said she enjoys research and described vetting as an area in which she believes she has particular expertise.
“I enjoy research. That’s what I was supposed to be doing. I’m really good at vetting and want to use my skills to better our country,” she wrote.
She said her interest in the work extends to both her personal and professional activities.
“So that’s what I do both personally and professionally,” Loomer wrote.
Loomer also ruled out another campaign for elected office, citing her temperament as one reason.
“I’ll never run for office again. I’m way too impatient,” she said.
Her comments came as she outlined the type of role she would prefer within a presidential administration, emphasizing personnel research and vetting rather than seeking elected office.

Loomer previously ran for Congress in Florida but did not win the Republican nomination in the 2024 primary. She has remained active in conservative political circles and has frequently used social media to comment on political figures, policy and personnel decisions.
Her latest remarks indicate that she sees research and political vetting, rather than campaigning for elected office, as the role where she can make the greatest contribution.
