U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna has endorsed Indian American candidate Jyot Singh in his campaign for Georgia State House District 97, adding a congressional endorsement to Singh’s 2026 bid.
Khanna, a Democrat from California, announced his support for Singh in a post on X, saying he was proud to endorse Singh for Georgia State House District 97.
Singh’s campaign lists Khanna among its endorsements alongside a group of federal, state and local officials and organizations. The campaign’s endorsement page also lists Congressmen Hank Johnson and Jonathan Jackson, Georgia State Sen. Josh McLaurin and state Reps. Eric Bell, Sam Park, Bryce Berry and Long Tran.
The endorsement comes as Singh seeks a seat in the Georgia House. Indian American Impact, a national organization focused on increasing South Asian representation in U.S. politics, has also endorsed Singh for the Georgia State House in 2026.

Singh is among a group of Indian American candidates seeking elected office in Georgia this election cycle. His campaign identifies him as a candidate for State House District 97.
Khanna represents California’s 17th Congressional District in the U.S. House. His endorsement of Singh adds the backing of a sitting member of Congress to the Georgia candidate’s campaign.
The endorsement is also notable within the broader participation of Indian Americans in Georgia politics. Indian American Impact’s 2026 endorsed-candidate list includes Singh as well as other candidates seeking state and local offices across the country.
