Major technology companies, including OpenAI, Nvidia, Anthropic, Amazon and Google, are contributing $2.4 billion worth of computing resources to support federal science agencies and researchers through the Trump administration’s Genesis Mission.
The Genesis Mission is an initiative aimed at using artificial intelligence to drive breakthroughs in energy, scientific discovery and national security. The Trump administration announced Thursday that it was expanding the mission to include 14 additional federal agencies. The announcement came during the White House’s “Science: A New Golden Age” summit.
The companies’ commitments include $1 billion in computing capabilities from NVIDIA over five years; $200 million from OpenAI in token discounts and training programs for scientists; $150 million in access to Anthropic’s Claude over three years; and $50 million in cloud credits from Amazon Web Services, according to statements from the administration and the companies.

“President Trump’s Genesis Mission is launching a new golden age of American discovery,” NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement.
“With a $1 billion investment, NVIDIA is putting advanced Super Intelligence in the hands of America’s scientists to accelerate breakthroughs in medicine, energy and materials. This is how America turns scientific leadership into industrial leadership, and innovation into jobs and opportunity for generations,” Huang said.
Anthropic said it would provide Claude, Claude Code and API credits to several hundred Genesis Mission research projects over the next three years. The company also pledged to work with federal agencies and national laboratories on scientific priorities, including fusion energy and quantum computing, and to provide training, onboarding and technical support to participating scientists. It will also help agencies new to the mission launch their initial projects.
AMD, Emerald AI, Armada, AMP, Crusoe, Google and Micron are also participating in the initiative. A Crusoe spokesperson told POLITICO that the company had pledged $50 million in computing credits.

The announcement comes as the administration pushes for wider AI adoption across the federal government and seeks to advance the technology to maintain a competitive edge over China.
National Compute, a new company that pools computing power from major technology firms, was also expected to announce plans Thursday to donate $100 million in computing credits to the Trump administration. According to POLITICO, the donation would give Genesis Mission researchers access to advanced computing resources.
Other announced commitments include $500 million from AMD, $150 million from Google, $100 million from AMP, $100 million from Emerald AI, $50 million from Armada, $50 million from Crusoe and $50 million from Micron.
Separately, the Defense Department announced Thursday that it would work with the Genesis Mission fellowship to connect scholars with the Department of Energy.
