‘King Donald’ pulls out all stops to turn the ominous tides
With ‘fake news’ polls portending a massive spooky Democratic blue wave, Donald Trump kept apace his 32-day whirlwind blitz across 30 Republican red states to turn the mid-term tides with the magic of his name!
“Pretend I’m on the ballot,” he would say at rally after rally, “Because when I’m on the ballot, we always won.” — Not counting the 2o20 presidential election that “Sleepy” Joe Biden “stole” from him or his failure to win the popular vote four years earlier.
Trump also goes carrying a bag of goodies — A $5,000 check for every American adult. An $8 billion bailout for farmers. $90 payments for seniors and much more courtesy Uncle Sam — only if Republicans retain control of Congress. “But you have to win. If we don’t win, there’s no money.”
He, however, did allow tariff exemptions on some Canadian imports to help Republican candidates in Maine and other states bordering Canada that have been hit hard by the tariffs, without waiting for the outcome.
With his approval rating falling to 31% in a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, the lowest level in either of his two terms in office, amid rising prices and an unpopular Iran war, reports suggested that even some Republicans were running away from him instead of running with him.

Republicans, according to an Associated Press report, have spent just $11.4 million on ads mentioning Trump just 16,000 times since September 1. On the other hand, Democrats have spent loads of money — more than $163 million — on TV ads mentioning Trump 180,000 times invoking his ballroom and other grandiose projects and resurrecting the ghost of Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump has also faced demonstrators at many of his rallies that he has brushed off as being carried out by “paid protesters.’’ As he was interrupted at least nine times by hecklers at a rally in South Carolina, many protesters were removed, including one who was apparently punched by a rally attender – to Trump’s delight.
“That was great, man. Wow. Man, I loved that. I watched that,” Trump said. “That was incredible. Wow. That was unbelievable. He got whacked.” The crowd chanted “USA” as security guards escorted the protesters out of the arena, according to a pool report.
Trump then came to the aid of Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican candidate for Ohio governor, facing flak from his own party for running a controversial ad featuring his Democratic rival, Dr Amy Acton’s estranged mother.
“You’ve got to ride with it” Trump told Ramaswamy encouraging him to keep running the “very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Amy Acton, who is running for Governor of Ohio, is a liar, and much worse.”
Only he forgot to mention that the Republican Senate candidate he was there to support, Ashley Hinson, had denounced the ad as “absolutely terrible.”

Trump has also opened his big war chest with his super MAGA Inc. set to spend over 400 million in support of Republicans in midterm races, with $277 million already spent, according to new federal campaign financial disclosures.
Meanwhile, the Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr has warned broadcasters against “amplifying or airing” fake election polls, without suggesting what penalty they may face.
At another rally in Iowa, Trump returned to his favorite theme of seeking a third term despite a constitutional bar saying he had “the right to run again” because Democrats “stole” the 2020 presidential election from him.
“Well, one thing is different: they cheated us on the second one because we won it three times. So I think I have the right to run again,” Trump said, laughing. “I think I have the right to run again because they cheated,” he added with a smile, drawing applause from the MAGA crowd.
And as he flooded Truth Social with calls to “swamp the vote,” a follower amplified the “Vote Red” message with a statue of Trump dressed as a Roman emperor standing on a pedestal in front of the White House, draped in an American flag and holding a sword.

Yet amid his hectic rallying like a “machine,” as the White House put it, Trump did not forget to reflect on the Reflecting Pool and his other pet projects from overhauling a historic D.C. golf course to build a triumphal arch in the capital that have angered many residents.
With Trump continuing to claim vandals were responsible for damage to the Reflecting Pool, even after the Justice Department said the renovation had been botched, U.S. Park Police leased mobile camera trailers costing at least $341,000 to monitor several of his projects, according to the Washington Post.
Trump then nominated four more political appointees to a panel that will vote on his arch with one report suggesting construction may begin as early as November 5.
Earlier, at a rally in South Carolina, Trump revealed Google, which had previously acceded to his fiat to call Lake Ontario as Lake America, had declined his request to rename the Atlantic Ocean after himself or America.
“I only like two oceans: the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. I’m not going to put either Trump or America on any other ocean but these two,” he said recalling his call to Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
“I said: ‘Sundar, I’m thinking of the Atlantic Ocean,’” Trump said. “No, no, no. This time I’m not doing it,” replied Sundar. “Oceans are different, sir. They cover a lot of countries. Please don’t ask us to do that.”
“So we’ll probably pass. Let’s keep it the Atlantic Ocean,” he declared magnanimously.
But if Republicans do lose, unlike legendary 11th-century King Cnut, Trump is unlikely to concede that ‘King Donald’ doesn’t have the power to command incoming ocean waves to stop, whether Sundar approves or not!
