Unidentified woman was going from capital to Rishikesh.

NEW DELHI: A tourist in India was molested during a cab ride on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, in the early morning hours of Tuesday, local time.
The woman, who has not been publically identified, hired a cab to take her from the Indian capital city to the town of Rishikesh, reports the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS). The cab driver, who was later identified as Samay Singh, pulled the cab over at some point during this journey, and molested the passenger.
During the incident, the passenger was able to scream and raise enough of a ruckus that a nearby people heard her. They came to her rescue, pulling her to safety and subduing the cab driver.
The incident took place around 1:00 AM, in a located close to the Nayi Mandi Kotwali area in between the Delhi and Rishikesh. It was reported at the Musaffarnagar police station, where the Singh was booked by police, under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code.
Rishikesh, located near the Ganga, is about four hours north of New Delhi by car. Muzaffarnagar is roughly halfway between the two locations, both or which are in the far northern area of India.
The victim’s nation of origin has not been disclosed, nor is it known if she was visiting India with family, friends, colleagues, or by herself. An investigation is said to be underway. Singh, who is originally from the Saharanpur district, is still being held by police in Muzaffarnagar, and will be until further notice.
