XOLO keeps up to its promise.

BENGALURU: XOLO, the subsidiary premium brand of Indian mobile devices manufacturer Lava, has rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop (Android L) update for XOLO One smartphone.
XOLO had promised last October during the launch of its One smartphone that the device will be first in India to get the Android L update. It should be also noted that XOLO is the first Indian smartphone manufacturer to come up with a customized Android L update.
According to the press release of the company the company’s engineers in the Bengaluru office had been working hard for the last two months for bring out the Lollipop update as promised by the company.
XOLO One was launched targeting first-time smartphone users who have high expectations of their new smartphone. The device was priced at Rs. 6,599 with all the hardware specification that its rival smartphones manufactured by Micromax, Spice and Karbonn under the Android One project could offer.
Interestingly, even though Google directly supports the upgrade of Android One handsets by offering over-the-air update straight from its ware house, none of the phones have till now received it.
XOLO boasts that their Android L update will make XOLO One more intuitive with organized user experience. It also features a hand full of improvements starting from the new material design language that gives the whole new look and feel for the smartphone’s UI by using new themes, colors, and widgets. The new notification of Android L which has already become the talking point has also added the fame of XOLO’s Android L update release. Using the new notification users can get the important notifications in the lock screen without having to unlock the device. Also, the icons of camera and dialer can be accessed directly from the lock screen.
XOLO has additionally customized the Quick Settings with controls to flashlight, hotspot, screen rotation and cast screen. The battery app has also been revamped as it now gives an estimated time of 100% discharge and recharge.
XOLO has launched the Lollipop update over-the-air and XOLO One users have to just tap on the “Update System†option in the settings to upgrade their current version of Android. Also, users can also download the update manually from the official XOLO website http://www.XOLO.in/XOLOcare/software-update After downloading the update file of Lollipop, users can transfer the same to the smartphone and install by unzipping it.
