BENGALURU: A surprise song that bridegroom Frank Gregoire sung for his beautiful Indo-Canadian bride Simran Malhotra on their wedding day in Baltimore, Maryland, left her and guests moist-eyed.
Gregoire rendered the full song ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from the movie ‘Aashiqui 2’ to a shocked Malhotra, who was left  overwhelmed with joy and couldn’t hold back her tears throughout the rendition.
According to reports, it took Gregoire weeks to learn the lyrics and piano chords of the Hindi song which was one of the hit numbers of playback singer Arijit Singh. Interestingly, Gregoire rendered the song effortlessly, without stammering or skipping a single beat, delivering the song with the feel necessary, doing faith to the original song. He even made some smart improvisations.
The bride, Malhotra, looks lovely in her wedding attire, and one could be pardoned for thinking that it is actually Shraddha Kapoor, the actress from Aashiqui 2, who is present. There is a good resemblance between the two.
Gregoire and Malhotra got married in Baltimore, Maryland in a Christian and Sikh wedding ceremony where the song was rendered. Gregoire said he initially planned to write her a poem and read it on the wedding day but later decided to give Malhotra an even bigger surprise.
The wedding was attended by nearly 130 close relatives from both sides of the family, who were also seen in tears hearing Gregoire sing his heart out for Malhotra.
The Canadian couple — Malhotra is from Toronto and Gregoire is from Sherbrooke, Que. — met at work in 2012 in Baltimore, where they now live. Malhotra, 27, was beginning her medical residency, while Gregoire, 36, was starting a job as a critical care physician.
Watch the video, which has received close to a million hits on YouTube.
