The Bidhannagar police department has arrested 28 people for allegedly shooting a porn film inside a marriage hall in Salt Lake, Kolkata, on Monday. The investigators also caught the video clips which were about to be uploaded on the internet.
“We have arrested 28 people, including seven women models, five male models, two directors and specialized sound recordists. We caught them while they were shooting inside the bathroom and bedroom,” an investigating officer told The Times of India.
The group hired the hall, Dishari, which is near to City Centre for the shoot on Monday, from 9 am onwards. The owner of the hall, Tapabrata Ghosh, and his associate, Archan Kar, were also arrested for giving the hall for the shoot.
The owner was offered Rs. 7,500 as rent for the hall.
“We have arrested Soumya Sankha Roy alias Raja, a resident of AG block, who had contacted Sonarpur resident Subhas Dhar Roy to produce the adult film clips. Roy had arranged for the models and other cast and crew members,” said DC (DD) Kankar Prasad Barui.
The models told the police that they were told that it was a documentary shoot and only after reaching the spot they realized that it was an adult film.
The money spent for the one day shoot is reportedly more than Rs. 87,000. While the expensive cameras and other equipment were hired for Rs. 35,000 a day, the models were paid only Rs. 1000 per day.
“Raja, who has turned out to be the ring leader, tied up with an audio and video company, based out of Delhi. Within hours of the film being shot in Kolkata, the videos would have been uploaded on various websites. The profits, which would depend on the number of hits on the online links, would be divided into half, one portion going to Raja and his associates and the other to the Delhi audio company that uploaded the videos,” an officer said to The Times of India.
The police have also found a diary that contains the details of previous shoots, said the report.
