Kangana Ranaut had a mixed year.

It was a pretty great year for female actresses.
Aishwarya Rai Bachan and Kajol were in the headlines with their come-back; Aishwarya made her big comeback to the silver screen in October with Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Jazbaa’ and Kajol played the female lead in Dilwale.
Here are the top five female actresses of Bollywood in 2015:
Deepika Padukone
2015 was Deepika Padukone’s yet another big year in Bollywood. She acted in three prominent movies, namely ‘Piku’, ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani.’
Her central character in ‘Piku’ was unquestionably impressive. The movie made on a budget of ₹420 million ($6.3 million), and earned ₹1.04 billion ($16 million) worldwide.
Padukone was also lauded for her stellar performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’. She played the role of Peshwa Bajirao’s second wife Mastani in the movie.
Padukone also revealed her intention to produce a movie in the near future. The actress doesn’t want to use it as a business to make tons of money though, instead would prefer to organize aspects of filmmaking.
Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra’s grand entry in the ABC’s super hit television show ‘Quantico’ was a milestone in her acting career.
Chopra, who plays the character Alex Parrish – one of a diverse group of new FBI recruits in the Quantico series – became the first South Asian actress to bag a starring role in an American network.
Chopra also made waves in Bollywood, in two prominent movies with an ensemble cast – Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakane Do’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
The actress crossed four million followers on Instagram and became Asia’s third most followed woman on twitter this year. She was also voted as the sexiest Asian woman title by a UK-based publication for the second consecutive year.
Chopra’s upcoming prominent movie, ‘Jai Gangaajal’, is set to release in theaters on March 4, 2016.
Anushka Sharma
NH 10, Anushka Sharma’s first venture as a producer, released this year. The actress also played the lead role of a woman who fights it out with a group of criminals after her road trip goes awry. The actress was highly appreciated for her role in the film.
She played the character of a jazz singer of the 60s in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’. The actress received mixed reactions for the role.
Kangana Ranaut
2015 was not as great as 2014 for the reigning queen of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut. Even though her performance in Anand L Rai’s ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ as Kusum Sangwan will stay in the minds of the audience for a long time.
Ranout’s another release of the year, Katti Batti, a romantic comedy with Imran Khan, failed at the box office.
The actress was also part of the Women in the World summit and the Paris Fashion Week to attend the Dior show.
Kalki Koechlin
Kalki Koechlin’s stunning performance as Laila in the movie ‘Margarita With A Straw’ was appreciated by critics.
Koechlin played the role of a young woman with cerebral palsy in the Shonali Bose-directed movie.
