Golpo, a startup backed by Y Combinator and co-founded by brothers Shreyas and Shraman Kar, has launched an AI-powered video generation platform that transforms written content and workflows into animated explainer videos.
Users can input information from diverse formats such as documents, code, or project management tools and the system instantly produces dynamic, whiteboard-style animations paired with realistic voiceovers. Designed for clarity and simplicity, the videos are especially suited for tasks like training employees, explaining products, delivering educational lessons, or sharing instructional content. The platform supports narration in over 50 languages and allows users to fully customize visuals and animations for precise messaging.
Co-founder Shreyas Kar describes Golpo as a tool built to streamline communication. “While recent AI video tools are impressive at generating cinematic scenes or flashy content, they struggle with practical communication, like a product demo or a technical topic. Most teams today still spend hours making explainer videos manually because existing AI tools just aren’t built for communication or clarity,” the company wrote in a LinkedIn post.

The team behind Golpo states that their platform is tailored for specific needs such as explanation, training, and reporting. “Golpo is built specifically for use cases on explaining, learning, and reporting, and feels authentic and engaging in a way no other AI video generator does. After Golpo generates a video, you can fully customize its animations frame by frame. Also, you can make a video anywhere from 15 seconds to 30 minutes,” the startup claims.
Golpo is available in multiple pricing tiers. A Free plan gives users two credits per month at no cost enough for one or two test videos. The Starter plan, at $39.99 per month, includes 20 credits and access to email support, making it suitable for solo creators or lighter use cases. For larger needs, the Plus plan costs $499.99 monthly and offers 500 credits along with premium customer support. Enterprises can request a custom solution, which includes API access, advanced storyboard tools, narration in up to 190 languages, script verification, and the ability to create videos up to 60 minutes long.
Before this video platform, Shreyas Kar had introduced Golpo as “the first production-quality AI true crime podcast generator.” According to Kar, users only need to share the story they’re interested in hearing, and Golpo manages the rest like conducting research, writing scripts, and producing polished, fact-based audio content, typically over 30 minutes long. The result is a personalized, real-event-driven podcast that eliminates the wait between episodes.
