Indian national YouTuber Nancy Grewal was fatally stabbed in Canada on Tuesday night.
Authorities in LaSalle described the attack as an “isolated incident,” issuing the statement a day after the 45-year-old died from her injuries.
In a post on social media, the LaSalle Police Service expressed condolences following Grewal’s death, writing, “Our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal.”
The department also sought to reassure residents about public safety, stating, “To ease public concern, we are sharing that investigators are viewing this as an isolated incident.”
According to police, emergency crews responded to reports of a stabbing shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 2400 block of Todd Lane. When they arrived, witnesses had already found a woman with stab wounds. Paramedics from Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services rushed her to the hospital, but she could not be saved and “succumbed to her injuries” later that day.
On Wednesday morning, officers blocked off two homes on Todd Lane between Canada Street and Bishop Street. Yellow police tape also surrounded a wooded area about a kilometer away, according to local outlet Windsor Star. Investigators placed several evidence markers at the scene, stretching along a concrete pathway and up the stairs leading to the front door of one of the houses.

The killing marks the second homicide reported in the region in 2026. The first occurred roughly two weeks earlier and involved a 44-year-old man.
Police are also seeking any available surveillance footage and have asked residents in the surrounding neighborhood to come forward with information that could assist the investigation.
Following the news of her death, Grewal’s sister, Alishaa M S Grewal, posted an emotional message on Instagram: “With a very heavy heart I share that my beloved sister Nancy Grewal has passed away on 3 March 2026. I lost my sister, my strength, my forever friend. Rest in peace, my sister. You will always live in our hearts.”
Grewal, a resident of Windsor, was born on January 19. Her father had studied engineering at Sirsa National College in Haryana. Friends and followers knew her as someone who shared glimpses of her life online, often accompanied by her pet dog, Bazveer.
Following her father’s death, Grewal had taken on the responsibility of caring for her mother. Over the years, she built a noticeable presence on social media, particularly on Instagram, where she had more than 118,000 followers.
She was known online for sharing outspoken views on political and social issues. Her blunt commentary often sparked debate, particularly when she criticized political leaders and other public figures. Investigators have not revealed a possible motive so far and say the case is still under active investigation.
