A viral video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after a woman, claiming to be Indian, at a Chicago nail salon was accused of making racist remarks toward Asian staff members while allegedly refusing to pay for her pedicure. The clip, originally shared by Threads user Michael McWhorter, has drawn widespread attention online.
McWhorter posted the video with the caption, “Chicago IL. Who is she?” The footage appeared to show a woman arguing with salon employees at the counter over being charged for the services she had received.
An overlaid caption on the video read: “Racist woman came to our nail salon today and got a pedicure, but when it came time to pay she said we’re not from this planet, and refused to pay and walked out.”
“I am not sure what reason you feel entitled to not be charged,” a person from the nail salon can be heard saying in the video.

The woman then launched into a series of confusing and racially charged remarks directed at the workers.
“So we’re on planets right now, so what are you Chinese or Asian people doing here? This is Chicago,” she said. When asked what she meant, she responded, “Did I get you guys there? How did you get there? Did you guys have an inner deal with India? And you smuggle things from there and put it in Vietnam?”
McWhorter, under username TizzyEnt, is a social media influencer and according to reports, he is known to use his platform for “exposing racists, misogynists, abusers, and road-raging Americans whose ugly and sometimes violent interactions are caught on camera.”
The woman in the viral social clip went on to say she was from India, and she cannot be charged as “the planet is India’s.” She went on to ask “what kind of Asian” the person at the counter was, and accused him of being untrue to the people at the salon when he refused to elaborate, saying he was an American citizen and did business in America. According to McWhorter, she ended up leaving without paying.

People in the comments speculated that the woman was either mentally ill or on drugs. “She’s either mentally ill or high as f–k,” one comment said. “Yeah that’s called drugs and schizophrenia,” another comment said. Another comment accused her of “faking mental illness.”
Another comment pointed out the irony of her comments about Asian people considering she said she is from India, an Asian country.
This comes at a time of increased polarization, racism and anti-immigrant sentiment in the U.S. The fact that this is an Indian woman targeting other Asians makes this scenario especially bizarre, and the talk about “planets” adds to the weirdness.
It is not known who the woman is or what was actually going on. A commenter on the Threads post mentioned knowing the woman, but did not give any details.
