A clip from “The Don Rob Show,” an independent travel, culture, and interview podcast hosted by American entrepreneur Robert Weigel or “Rob,” is drawing attention online after Australian travel vlogger Luke Damant repeatedly identified India as the country where travelers are most likely to experience food poisoning when compared with several other nations.
Known for its unfiltered conversations and discussions that challenge conventional narratives, the podcast often features travelers sharing firsthand experiences from around the world. In the viral segment, Weigel asks the guest a series of rapid-fire questions comparing India with other countries on the likelihood of getting food poisoning.
When asked, “Which country is more likely to get you food poisoning? India or Pakistan?” Damant immediately responded, “India.”
The pattern continued as Rob compared India with several other destinations.
“India or Nigeria?” Rob asked.

“India,” Damant replied.
“India or Thailand?”
“It is India.”
When comparing India and Lebanon, Damant said, “I have been food poisoned in both countries. It’s definitely India, but Lebanon, part of the cultural experience there in the summer is getting food poisoning.”
Damant, who has over a million followers on YouTube and Instagram, chose India over the United Kingdom, jokingly adding, “Aren’t they the same? The national dish is chicken tikka masala.”
The comparisons continued.
Asked whether France or India was more likely to cause food poisoning, Damant replied, “If you eat snails, possibly France, but India.”
When Egypt was brought up, Damant said, “I didn’t actually get sick in Egypt. They do have really good food.”
Damant also acknowledged getting sick in Bangladesh but still selected India, saying, “I got sick in Bangladesh. I end up in hospital also in India.”

One of the more unusual exchanges came when Rob compared India with North Korea.
“Food poisoned or poisoned?” Damant asked. “Because you might get some like cyanide put in your drink in North Korea. I guess it’s hard to separate.”
After Rob clarified, “It’s poison, right?” Damant responded, “India.”
Damant also chose India over Italy, Japan, and Israel.
“India,” Damant said when asked about Italy, adding, “You can’t get sick from pizza.”
When Israel was mentioned, Damant again replied, “India. They do have some good food that they took from Lebanon.”
At one point, Rob joked, “Yeah. You will be getting food poisoning now after this.”
“Yes,” Damant responded.
The segment concluded with Rob’s sarcastic remark: “So India, the most sanitized place in the world.”
