Meta Platforms has unveiled a new range of artificial intelligence-powered smart glasses starting at $299, marking its most affordable push yet into the rapidly growing wearable technology market as competition intensifies among major tech companies.
The new devices, developed in partnership with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica, are the first Meta smart glasses not tied to established eyewear brands such as Ray-Ban or Oakley. Instead, the company is introducing its own Meta-branded lineup aimed at expanding consumer adoption of AI-enabled wearables.
The collection includes multiple frame styles, including the Meta Adventurer and Meta Fury models, both priced at $299. A premium version designed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner is available for $399 and targets fashion-conscious consumers.

Meta said the glasses feature built-in cameras, microphones, speakers, and direct access to Meta AI. Unlike the company’s higher-end display-equipped products, the new glasses do not include a screen but allow users to capture photos and videos, make calls, receive AI assistance, and access real-time translation features.
The glasses launch with Meta AI powered by the company’s Muse Spark model and support new capabilities including multilingual translation and pedestrian navigation. Meta says battery life exceeds eight hours, with a charging case providing up to 40 additional hours of usage.

The move underscores Meta’s broader strategy to make AI more accessible through everyday consumer devices. Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg has repeatedly described smart glasses as a key gateway for what the company calls “personal intelligence,” bringing AI assistance directly into users’ daily routines.
The announcement comes just days after Snap Inc. introduced its consumer-focused Specs augmented-reality glasses priced at $2,195, while companies including Apple, Google, and Samsung continue exploring next-generation wearable devices.
With the new $299 lineup, Meta is betting that lower prices, expanded AI capabilities, and fashionable designs can help move smart glasses beyond early adopters and into the mainstream consumer market.
