The Dallas-Fort Worth Indian community is set for an evening centered on the music of Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, who will perform live in Garland, Texas, on Saturday, August 15, as part of the “Raja 50 – Ilaiyaraaja Live in Concert” celebration.
The concert will be held at the Curtis Culwell Center and is being presented by Ultra Entertainments, Bharat Bhavan and Saregama. The event brings Ilaiyaraaja’s music to North Texas as the composer marks decades of work that have had a lasting influence on Indian cinema and film music.
For audiences familiar with Indian cinema, Ilaiyaraaja’s compositions have been part of the soundtrack of several generations. His career spans several decades and includes work across numerous Indian films. His music has also reached audiences beyond the regions and languages in which many of his early works were produced, helping establish him as one of the most recognized names in Indian film music.

The Dallas-Fort Worth concert is part of a broader effort by Ultra Entertainments to bring established Indian artists and cultural events to audiences in the United States. The company is working with Bharat Bhavan for the event, combining its role as a live entertainment organizer with the Irving restaurant’s existing connection to the Indian community in North Texas.
The partnership also includes initiatives for concertgoers outside the main performance. People who purchase their Ilaiyaraaja concert tickets through Ultra Entertainments or Bharat Bhavan can receive a 10% discount on meals at Bharat Bhavan in Irving.
Ticket buyers will also have an opportunity to take part in a Lucky Draw connected to the concert. Eligible participants can win Meet & Greet passes with Ilaiyaraaja, with the meeting scheduled to take place at Bharat Bhavan in Irving.
The additional activities give fans an opportunity to engage with the event beyond the performance itself, while also bringing the concert and a local Indian community establishment together.
