Adobe has acquired Indian AI automation startup Rilo, marking the software giant’s second known acquisition in India and adding another AI-focused company to its growing portfolio.
The San Jose, California-based software company acquired Rilo less than a year after the startup was founded, according to a report by Business Standard. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Rilo was founded in September 2025 by IIT Bombay alumni Dhruv Jaglan and Georgi Boby. The startup developed an AI-powered workflow platform that allowed users, including those without technical backgrounds, to create and execute complex workflows by describing what they wanted in plain English.
The company later expanded the product into what it described as “AI employees” designed for marketing and go-to-market teams. These AI agents could handle tasks such as competitive intelligence, prospecting, LinkedIn outreach, Reddit marketing, social media content and campaign research across multiple tools.
Rilo reportedly crossed 10,000 users within months of its launch and had raised funding from Peak XV Partners and Z47/DeVC at a reported valuation of $10 million.

The acquisition is Adobe’s second known deal involving an Indian startup. In 2023, Adobe acquired AI video startup Rephrase.ai, which had also been founded in India.
Rahul Parmar, a member of Rilo’s founding team, confirmed the acquisition in a LinkedIn post, reflecting on how quickly the startup had grown.
“Started in a small room. Less than a year later, Rilo is joining Adobe as its second acquisition from India,” Parmar wrote.
He described the startup’s journey as a period filled with late nights, experiments and rapid product development, adding that working at Rilo often meant taking on multiple responsibilities.
“Rilo gave me the space to experiment, make mistakes, take ownership, and build things that reached real users,” Parmar said.
He also thanked Jaglan, Boby and other members of the team, including Bhavesh Dhingra, Umesh Kumar, Aryaman and Shivam Jaglan, for helping turn ideas into products.
“Now, one chapter of Rilo closes as an even bigger one begins at Adobe,” Parmar wrote.

The acquisition also gives Adobe access to a team with experience across AI and technology. Jaglan previously co-founded AI recruitment platform Babblebots.ai, while Boby served as the technology lead at cooking robotics company CloudChef. Several members of Rilo’s wider team are IIT Bombay computer science graduates, including Dhingra, who secured an All India Rank of 2 in JEE Advanced in 2016.
Investors also welcomed the deal. Rahul Gupta, Managing Partner at Day Zero Ventures, which invested in Rilo, said the startup’s workflow builder was ahead of its time and could help Adobe improve customer experience and productivity.
“We’re very excited that Rilo has been acquired by Adobe in such a short span of time,” Gupta said.
The acquisition comes as major AI companies increasingly target marketing and business workflows. Anthropic has also been expanding Claude into marketing-related use cases, while other AI companies are developing tools aimed at automating tasks traditionally handled by marketing and sales teams.
For Adobe, bringing Rilo’s technology and team into the company could strengthen its push toward AI agents capable of carrying out more complex marketing workflows across its broader enterprise ecosystem.
