An Indian American couple from Texas, Deepak Ahuja and Madhu Ahuja, died in a landslide tragedy in Nepal while on a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash.
The couple had traveled from Texas to Nepal as part of a group pilgrimage. Their deaths have left friends, colleagues and members of the community in the U.S. mourning the loss.
Radio Rangrez 94.1 FM HD3, a Dallas-based South Asian radio station, expressed its grief over the couple’s deaths and offered condolences to their family and loved ones.

Remembering Deepak and Madhu, the station said their warmth, kindness and presence had touched many people. It described their deaths as a devastating loss and said they would continue to be remembered and missed by those who knew them.
Dr. Kushal Sanghvi also shared the news on LinkedIn, describing the deaths as “a really terrible news” for those who knew the couple.
According to Sanghvi, the family had spent several days trying to locate Deepak and Madhu before their deaths were confirmed.
The couple was part of the media and marketing community and had connections with Radio Rangrez. Sanghvi described their deaths as an “absolutely irreparable loss” for their family, friends and professional community.

He also reflected on how suddenly life can change, saying the tragedy was a painful reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of appreciating people while they are still around.
“Life is short,” Sanghvi wrote, while offering prayers for the couple and strength to their family.
Radio Rangrez also extended its condolences to the Ahuja family and everyone who knew the couple.
The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of grief among members of the community, with friends and colleagues remembering Deepak and Madhu for the relationships they built and the impact they had on people around them.
