JPMorgan Chase & Co. has named its Asia-Pacific and EMEA technology investment banking heads as co-heads of international technology investment banking, according to an internal company memo seen Tuesday by Reuters and confirmed by a company spokesperson.
The bank appointed Mark Fiteny, who serves as head of Asia-Pacific Technology, Media, and Telecom (APAC TMT) and New Economy Investment Banking, alongside Matt Gehl, head of EMEA Technology Investment Banking, to lead the international unit jointly.
In their expanded capacity, Fiteny and Gehl will focus on supporting JPMorgan’s technology clients globally. Both executives bring more than two decades of industry experience to the international co-head positions.

Prior to taking on this expanded international mandate, Fiteny spent significant time tracking cross-border commercial opportunities and equity capital trends across the region.
Before joining JPMorgan, where he held managing director and senior leadership roles across consumer internet and new economy sectors, he worked as an engineer at Procter & Gamble.
Gehl brings extensive regional technology coverage expertise to the role, having led JPMorgan’s EMEA Technology Investment Banking division out of London.

His recent focus has centered on tech sector market shifts, capital raising, and emerging growth areas across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, including speaking on investment banking developments at major European technology forums such as JPMorgan’s Tech Stars conference.
Under the new operational structure, Gehl will remain based in London, while Fiteny is said to continue to operate out of Hong Kong.
Alongside the international co-head designations, the financial institution made adjustments to its regional technology coverage leadership in Europe.
The firm appointed Pieter Himpe as co-head of EMEA Technology Investment Banking, where he will serve alongside veteran banker Bill Hutchings.
Himpe previously held the position of head of EMEA Internet and Tech Services within the bank’s technology investment banking division.
