Vivek Ramaswamy’s personal fortune has reached a new high, but the latest prediction-market signals from the Ohio governor’s race are moving in the opposite direction.
Just days after Forbes reported that Ramaswamy’s estimated net worth had climbed to $2.3 billion, a new Polymarket market update showed Democratic candidate Amy Acton ahead of the Republican nominee in the odds for the November 2026 Ohio governor’s race.
A Polymarket post on X said Ramaswamy had fallen to a record low in the market’s odds, while Acton reached 60%. Polymarket’s live market page subsequently showed Acton at about 59% and Ramaswamy at about 42%, with the figures subject to change as traders buy and sell contracts. The figures are not polling results. Polymarket is a prediction market in which contract prices reflect traders’ market-implied probabilities about an election outcome. The Ohio market had generated more than $214,000 in trading volume as of Sept. 22.

The shift comes immediately after Forbes reported a substantial increase in Ramaswamy’s wealth.
According to Forbes, Ramaswamy is now estimated to be worth $2.3 billion, up from $1.8 billion a year earlier and about $1 billion in March 2025. Forbes said that if he wins the Ohio governor’s race in November, he would become America’s second-richest governor and third-wealthiest elected official, behind President Donald Trump and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker. Ramaswamy’s wealth is closely tied to his business interests, including his holdings connected to Roivant Sciences, the pharmaceutical company he founded. The rise in Roivant’s stock value has contributed significantly to the increase in his estimated fortune.
The contrast between Ramaswamy’s financial position and the latest election-market movement has become an unusual feature of his Ohio campaign.
His wealth has also become a campaign issue. Acton has described Ramaswamy as a “self-funding billionaire” and has contrasted his financial resources and private-jet travel with her own campaign image. Ramaswamy, meanwhile, has embraced his business success and has said he believes in celebrating it.
From billionaire candidate to potential political record
Ramaswamy’s $2.3 billion valuation places him in an unusual position among American political candidates.
Forbes’ September estimate would put him ahead of nearly every current elected official in personal wealth if he wins the Ohio race. Only Trump and Pritzker would rank above him among elected officials under Forbes’ calculations. That distinction was the focus of an earlier American Bazaar report examining the growing intersection of wealth, business and political influence among Indian Americans. Ramaswamy’s campaign was highlighted alongside figures including technology investor Vinod Khosla, entrepreneur Shalabh Kumar, and businessman Romesh Wadhwani. Also, Indian American elected officials such as Vice President Kamala Harris, Rep. Ro Khanna, Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, and Rep. Pramila Jayapal.
Ramaswamy’s trajectory is particularly distinctive because his business wealth and electoral ambitions have developed simultaneously. Forbes reported that his fortune increased from an estimated $1 billion in March 2025 to $2.3 billion in September 2026.

At the same time, the Polymarket figures illustrate how quickly election-market prices can move. The platform’s Ohio market remains open until the Nov. 3 election and can change as traders respond to polling, campaign developments and other information.
The latest numbers therefore capture a snapshot of market sentiment rather than an election result or a conventional public-opinion poll. With the Ohio governor’s race still months from Election Day, Ramaswamy now faces an unusual juxtaposition: his estimated fortune has reached a record level, while his position in the prediction market has moved in the opposite direction.
