Spotify and Claude recovered after brief outages affected users across the U.S. on Tuesday. Thousands of users reported problems accessing the music-streaming platform, according to outage-tracking website Downdetector.
Around 17,000 users had reported issues with Spotify by 10:12 a.m. ET. The figure is based on user-submitted reports and does not necessarily represent the total number of people affected.

Spotify acknowledged the issue on X, writing, “We’re aware of issues temporarily affecting our app. We’re actively working to quickly resolve them.” The company did not provide details about what caused the outage.
The Spotify outage came alongside problems with another online service. Anthropic’s AI platform Claude also experienced difficulties in the U.S., with more than 11,000 users reporting problems around the same time. Anthropic said it was investigating “elevated error rates” affecting Claude services. Reports have since fallen to fewer than 100.
In Singapore, users began reporting problems with Spotify at 9:41 p.m., with reports peaking at 10:26 p.m. at 453. Reports of problems with Claude began at 9:44 p.m. and peaked at 10:14 p.m. at 368, according to Downdetector.
