FBI Director Kash Patel is engaged to country singer and political commentator Alexis Wilkins, with the couple announcing the news on social media.
Wilkins, 27, shared a black-and-white photograph of herself with Patel, 46, showing her engagement ring. She captioned the Oct. 4 post, “Went and got the law involved,” while Patel later reshared the post on his X account with heart and diamond-ring emojis.
Patel and Wilkins have been in a relationship since 2023. They met at a gathering in Nashville in 2022 and began dating the following year, according to accounts the couple has given in interviews. Wilkins was present when Patel was sworn in as FBI director on February 21, 2025.

Wilkins is a country singer and political commentator who released her debut album in 2023. She has also been associated with conservative causes and has performed at several politically connected events, including events linked to President Donald Trump.
The couple’s relationship has drawn public attention during Patel’s tenure as FBI director, particularly over his use of government aircraft for personal travel.
Patel has faced criticism over trips that included travel to Pennsylvania for a professional wrestling event where Wilkins performed the national anthem. Patel has defended his travel, saying he needs to use government aircraft and reimburses personal travel and related expenses in accordance with federal rules.

Wilkins has also attracted attention for her appearances at events associated with the Trump administration. In June, she performed at a Great American State Fair event on the National Mall marking the country’s 250th anniversary. She later pushed back against suggestions that her appearance was connected to her relationship with Patel, saying she had established her career independently.
Wilkins was also present during Patel’s September 2026 Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, where lawmakers questioned the FBI director on issues including oversight of the bureau.
The engagement announcement comes as Patel remains one of the most visible Indian American figures in the Trump administration. His appointment as FBI director made him the first Indian American to lead the bureau.
Neither Patel nor Wilkins has announced a wedding date.
