In exchange for the financial terms, Micron obtains a five-year worldwide license covering Netlist’s patented memory technologies.
The agreement covers critical computing components, including server dual in-line memory modules and high-bandwidth memory architectures utilized in enterprise data centers.
Additionally, both corporations agreed to move for the dismissal of all pending legal proceedings and release each other from lingering liabilities stemming from the intellectual property conflict.
The resolution brings closure to high-stakes legal confrontations litigated across multiple venues.
Netlist previously secured a $445 million jury verdict against Micron in a Texas federal court. Furthermore, Netlist had initiated proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission seeking to restrict imports of specific Micron memory devices integrated into hardware systems associated with technology firms such as Nvidia, Google, and Broadcom.
Netlist Chief Executive Officer C.K. Hong stated that the multi-year licensing arrangement demonstrates the commercial value of the enterprise’s research and development portfolio within the memory sector.

He added that the organization remains committed to safeguarding its proprietary innovations while directing resources toward future engineering initiatives.
The agreement follows a prior legal resolution between Netlist and Samsung, which involved settlements tied to earlier jury verdicts.
By concluding the litigation with Netlist, Micron resolves outstanding legal liabilities involving its memory product offerings as the semiconductor industry navigates ongoing technological and market demands.
