Amazon has unveiled two new AI-powered wearable devices designed to listen to users’ daily conversations, summarize information, and generate reminders, expanding its push into AI-enabled consumer hardware.
The company announced the Bee Frontier bracelet and Bee Eclipse smartphone attachment on Oct 15. The devices operate under the Bee brand, a startup Amazon acquired in 2025, and are designed to help users keep track of conversations, appointments and tasks throughout the day.
According to Reuters, the Bee Frontier costs $75, while the Bee Eclipse is priced at $100. The Frontier is a wearable bracelet, while the Eclipse is a compact device that attaches magnetically to a smartphone.

The launch comes as technology companies increasingly develop AI-powered hardware that can capture information from users’ surroundings and turn it into summaries, recommendations and actionable tasks.
How Amazon’s new AI devices work
The Bee devices collect information from conversations and connected applications to generate summaries, reminders and other insights. The technology is intended to help users remember commitments, identify follow-up tasks and manage their schedules without manually recording every detail.
“They listen to your whole day,” Amazon devices chief Panos Panay said at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco, according to Reuters. Panay said the devices could remind users about conversations, outstanding tasks, and commitments made to others.
The Bee Frontier is designed for users who want a wearable option, while the Eclipse offers an alternative that attaches to a smartphone. Both connect to Bee’s companion software, which allows users to access the information generated by the AI system.
The devices can work with connected services, including email and calendar applications. With supported integrations, the system can help users draft emails, organize meetings and identify tasks arising from conversations.
Amazon has also introduced a subscription option for additional features. Bee’s free tier provides conversation summaries and recaps, with information retained for 14 days. A Bee Pro subscription costs about $12 per month and provides expanded capabilities, including additional summaries, suggested tasks and integrations with Amazon’s shopping platform and Alexa+.
The Bee Frontier is available to purchase, while the Eclipse is expected to become available later.
Privacy concerns surrounding always-listening technology
The launch places renewed attention on privacy concerns surrounding devices that capture conversations and process personal information throughout the day.
Amazon says users control when the devices are switched on and can delete previous conversations and generated insights. The company also says it does not store audio recordings. Bee retains information for 14 days under its standard offering, while users can pay for extended features through the subscription service. However, the devices’ ability to process everyday conversations raises questions about consent, data retention and how people nearby are informed when a conversation is being captured.
Amazon has faced scrutiny over privacy practices associated with its Alexa voice assistant. In 2019, reports that workers reviewed recordings collected by Alexa raised concerns about how voice data was handled. Amazon has denied wrongdoing in a class-action lawsuit concerning the service, Reuters reported.
The latest products enter a market where technology companies are competing to make AI assistants more accessible through wearable devices and other personal hardware.
Amazon expands its AI hardware ambitions
Amazon’s Bee launch comes amid a broader effort to expand its consumer-device portfolio and strengthen its position in the AI market.
The company faces competition from products developed by Meta and other technology firms, as well as startups building devices that record conversations, summarize meetings and help users manage tasks. These products reflect a shift in AI applications from chatbots and software platforms toward devices that can gather context from users’ daily activities and provide assistance based on that information.
For Amazon, integrating Bee with its existing services could create additional opportunities to connect personal productivity tools, Alexa+ and its e-commerce platform.

The company has recently introduced other consumer hardware products as it seeks to attract customers willing to pay more for premium devices. Reuters has also reported that Amazon is considering a return to the smartphone market, about a decade after the launch of its Fire Phone.
The success of its AI wearables will depend on whether consumers find the convenience of automated summaries and reminders worth the cost, while remaining comfortable with the privacy implications of technology designed to process everyday conversations.
