Samsung is set to launch its first clip-style wireless earbuds in the U.S. The Galaxy Buds On, which debuted in South Korea earlier this month, will go on sale in the U.S. on Nov. 6, according to the company.
According to Gizmodo, the earbuds feature Samsung’s “TwinBoost” technology, designed to enhance bass, an area where open-style wireless earbuds typically struggle. Samsung says the Galaxy Buds On feature two woofers, though their impact on bass performance remains to be seen.
The earbuds offer up to 9.5 hours of battery life, according to Samsung. They feature a C-shaped design similar to that of other clip-on wireless earbuds, tap controls for playback and technology designed to reduce audio leakage. They also support Galaxy AI and Gemini Live, along with head gestures for answering calls or dismissing alarms. The earbuds carry an IP54 rating, meaning they are protected against limited dust exposure and water splashes, including sweat and light rain.

According to Android Authority, the earbuds are designed not to create the seal typical of many conventional earbuds. Rather than blocking out the surrounding environment, Samsung aims to let users hear approaching traffic, conversations and other ambient sounds without relying on a dedicated transparency mode.
Because the earbuds do not seal the ear canal, they lack active noise cancellation (ANC). However, Samsung has developed technology to minimize sound leakage. The feature uses opposite-phase sound waves to reduce the amount of audio escaping into the surroundings. Samsung says the technology does not consume additional battery power and remains enabled by default, according to Android Authority.

Samsung says the Galaxy Buds On will cost $229 in the U.S. and go on sale Nov. 6. The earbuds will be available only in black and come with a case design similar to that of the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. They are Samsung’s second-most expensive wireless earbuds, behind the $249 Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. The standard Galaxy Buds 4 cost $179.
According to Gizmodo, the Galaxy Buds On do not differ significantly on paper from other clip-on wireless earbuds. They share a similar design and selling points, but their appeal will ultimately depend on comfort and whether they deliver a satisfying audio experience.
