Khan needs to be more careful of his hashtags.

WASHINGTON, DC: It’s normal for people to feel the jitters before a big moment, especially when public judgment will decide one’s fate. Actor Aamir Khan is no exception.
Khan’s much anticipated film ‘PK’, directed by the super successful director Rajkumar Hirani and produced by the internationally renowned Vidhu Vinod Chopra, which also stars Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, is set to be released on December 19th worldwide.
What is remarkable is that Khan, the veritable poster boy of Bollywood when it comes to social activism in the country, the remarkable host of arguably the best show on Indian television ‘Satyamev Jayate’, is slipping up on his good boy image as the release time of PK approaches.
In perhaps what is a rather shocking show of casual banter, or at best a misstep in impeccable promotion of PK till now, including the shroud of secrecy around the film, Khan used a rather peculiar hashtag in a tweet today which seems to suggest that people should come to watch PK drunk.
This is what Khan tweeted: “Hey guys, the butterflies in my stomach seem to have woken up. The count-down begins. 10 days to go. #PKAanaâ€
‘PKAana’ literally means ‘Come Drunk’.
Khan, who on his show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ takes on some of the worst social ills plaguing modern India, needs to be mindful of the tremendous influence he has on youth, and a casual dictate – even through a hashtag – could play a big role on how people behave in society.
Khan is one of the few Bollywood stars in India who commands tremendous respect from audiences, who go to watch his film, regardless of who the director is. It’s really not necessary for anybody to be drunk to watch a film, PK or otherwise, unless it turns out to be a terribly poor film. In that case, it would be a theater full of drunk people who stream in, and fall asleep midway through the film.
