A man with terminal cancer, who was desperate to get married but didn’t want to leave a grieving widow, behind came up with an unorthodox solution to his predicament: he got married to a sex doll.
The Beijing man reportedly wanted to experience a fancy wedding shoot before he died, so he brought the life-like inflatable doll and splurged for the full monty, including a makeup artist and an intricate wedding dress.
According to KRMG news, the patient even chose several dresses to model the doll in before deciding on a lilac style with a long, flowing train.
The photographer who snapped the series of pictures defended the man’s unusual nuptials, according to The Mirror. She said that even if she didn’t necessarily agree with the man’s choice of marrying a doll, he still deserved to be respected as a matter of personal freedom.
While some have written off the viral photo op as a marketing campaign, CCTV reported that some “netizens recently revealed that the man is actually suffering from a deadly cancer.”
In May, another Chinese man posted pictures of child-sized doll he bought in place of the daughter he would never have. He thought that because he had serious headaches and depression, that he would never marry or have children, so he did a photo shoot with a life-like doll instead, reported The Telegraph.
