Yutori, an AI assistant startup founded by former Meta executives Devi Parikh and Dhruv Batra, has raised $15 million in funding, the company announced on Thursday. This funding round was led by Radical Ventures, while other investors included AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li and Google DeepMind’s Jeff Dean.
Yutori aims to create autonomous AI agents that can execute tasks without human intervention. Unlike most traditional chatbots, these AI agents would handle real-world actions, from ordering food to managing travel plans, streamlining everyday digital interactions. “Today’s frontier AI models enable great chatbots but can’t complete tasks autonomously,” the company said in a media release. “Yutori was founded to build personal AI assistants that are so reliable that they become the primary drivers of action on the web.”

The release also stated that assistants will handle things like scheduling and communications as well as authentication and transactions, “creating a world where everyone has access to a team of digital assistants.” However, the company noted that a new approach is needed, as current agentic applications built around large language models (LLMs) can “propagate errors over long sequences of actions involved in complex tasks.” To make LLMs effective at carrying out tasks, Yutori says it is developing an agent-first approach.
The company is currently focused on post-training models, a cutting-edge technique that enhances AI performance by fine-tuning large models for specific tasks. This is similar to OpenAI’s innovations for their o1 and o3 models. These developments come from a team of experts who previously worked on Meta’s AI projects, including the development of Llama 3 and Llama 4 models.
Both Parikh and Batra have previously worked at Georgia Institute of Technology as associate professors. While Batra was also previously Senior Director of Fundamental AI research at Meta, Devi Parikh used to be Senior Director of Generative AI at the same company.
