U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal sparked a fresh political debate on X after reacting to President Donald Trump and his recent remarks linked to Iran.
“I’m relieved Trump did not destroy an entire civilization last night, but his unhinged threat and illegal war make it clear he is unfit to serve as president. Trump needs to be removed from office. And we must oppose his new $1.5 trillion budget proposal for more war,” Jayapal wrote.
Her post quickly drew a wave of reactions online, with users divided over her criticism.

One user responded sarcastically, “ABSOLUTELY GENIUS!! Finally, someone who understands that congress is basically just a “suggestion box” that we can ignore! Who cares if the resolutions didn’t pass?! If we feel like it’s illegal, then it’s illegal! Incredible logic! We should honestly just stop wasting time with “votes” and “debates” and just let your Twitter feed be the law of the land! If he’s bad, the rules shouldn’t apply—it’s just common sense!”
Another user pushed back on calls for Trump’s removal, writing, “Trump won’t be removed from office. The Trump haters are demanding the removal however the Trump haters won’t get the demand finalized. Trump haters never ever take a win in this nation.”

Some commenters defended Trump’s language, with one saying, “When a Coach says we are gonna go out there and kill them… do you think he actually means Kill the other team? Trump was never going to Kill Innocent civilians. Its a figure of speech just like calling you a Retard is not because you’re mentally handicap, just Stupid.”
Others took a more balanced stance. “You can be relieved and demand accountability. Those aren’t mutually exclusive.,” one user wrote.
Another comment criticized what they saw as political inconsistency, stating, “Oh look, the same people who spent four years gaslighting us that Joe Biden was “sharp as a tack,” “running circles around staff,” and definitely not wearing a diaper in public are now screaming for the 25th Amendment because Trump posted something mean on the internet.”

The backlash also included direct attacks on Jayapal, with one user writing, “If he’s not fit to be our president, you are definitely not fit to be a Congress piece of shit.”
The online exchange comes amid a broader political flare-up on social media. Congressman Ro Khanna and conservative commentator Laura Loomer were also involved in a heated back-and-forth on X over Trump’s remarks related to Iran, highlighting how the issue has quickly escalated into a wider partisan clash online.
Trump had posted on Truth Social, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.”
