Three Indian American engineers are among the winners of the 2025–2026 Asian American Engineer of the Year Award (AAEOY), honoring distinguished Asian American professionals across academia, public service, and industry.
Dr. Arun Majumdar, inaugural Dean of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, Stanford University, received the Distinguished Leadership in Science and Technology Award.
He is the Jay Precourt Provostial Chair Professor at Stanford University, a faculty member of the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Science and Engineering, a Senior Fellow and former Director of the Precourt Institute for Energy and Senior Fellow (courtesy) of the Hoover Institution. He is also a faculty in Department of Photon Science at SLAC.

Dr. Majumdar received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1985 and his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 1989.
Dr. Indradeep Ghosh, CEO, Fujitsu Research of America, Sunnyvale received the Executive of the Year Award.
Ghosh heads Fujitsu’s research efforts in North America and leads a team of researchers doing cutting edge research in AI, Quantum computing and Convergence technologies. He has been working in industrial R&D for over 25 years in various areas of hardware and software analysis, quality assurance and optimization.
Ghosh received the Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and the MA and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.

Dr. Sakun Duwal, Manager, R&D Science and Engineering, Sandia National Laboratories, received the Most Promising Engineer of the Year Award. She has a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Washington State University and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from University of Wyoming.
The AAEOY Award has been presented annually since 2002 as a cornerstone of the National Engineers Week program. Since its inception, the AAEOY has recognized over 300 honorees, including nine Nobel Laureates, pioneering scholars, prominent corporate executives, and an astronaut.
The 2025-2026 AAEOY Award and Conference will be hel at the Santa Clara Convention Center on Sept. 18-19, 2026.
