Harvard University will offer executive education programmes in Hyderabad from December 2026, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced as the state steps up efforts to attract international universities and strengthen its education and skills ecosystem.
The announcement followed Reddy’s meeting with a delegation representing about 30 UK universities and business schools at the Dr Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute in Hyderabad.
The proposed Harvard programmes are part of Telangana’s broader effort to position Hyderabad as a “Global Knowledge Hub.” Reddy said the state was prepared to support international universities and business schools seeking to establish a presence in Telangana and build partnerships with local institutions and industry.

Harvard executive education in Hyderabad
The Telangana government had earlier said Harvard had agreed in principle to conduct executive education programmes in Hyderabad through the Dr MCR Human Resource Development Institute. The latest announcement sets December 2026 as the expected starting point.
However, details of the programmes have not yet been announced. Information on specific courses, eligibility requirements, fees, duration and the application process remains pending.
The initiative concerns executive education and should not be interpreted as a confirmed Harvard degree programme or full offshore Harvard campus in Hyderabad.
MIT, Purdue and other universities
Reddy also said Telangana was pursuing partnerships with several international institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Purdue University, the University of London, Virginia Tech and Northeastern University.

The proposed collaborations could cover executive education, dual-degree programmes, faculty training and research. Discussions are also underway with MIT and Purdue over possible offshore campuses in Hyderabad.
The state is also developing the Young India Skills University in Bharat Future City and planning an Education Hub intended to bring together universities, industry, research institutions and skills-development initiatives.
Reddy’s Harvard announcement follows his participation earlier this year in a six-day leadership programme at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
The developments come ahead of the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled for December, where the state government plans to invite representatives from the international education sector.
