Amazon employees are sharing details of possible layoffs on Reddit as the company confirms another round of corporate job cuts affecting its Stores division.
Several employees have taken to Reddit to discuss meetings they were asked to attend with senior managers, with some saying those meetings turned out to be layoff notifications.
One employee said they received an email from an L7 manager asking them to “prioritize the meeting and join in person.” The message did not provide details about the agenda, instead saying that the purpose of the meeting would be discussed during the meeting.
“Seeing earlier posts, it could potentially be a layoff. Can you guide me on what documents/any employment records I should download?” the employee wrote.
Another employee responded that the meeting was indeed related to a layoff and said they were facing the same situation.
“It’s layoff. I’m in the same boat. My meeting is tomorrow evening,” the employee wrote, adding that they were a “bar raiser,” an Amazon employee who participates in the company’s hiring process to help maintain its hiring standards.

“And guess what if it ends this way last thing I ever did as a Amazonian would have been to hire a external candidate,” the employee wrote. “God bless everyone impacted this time.”
A third employee also said they had gone through the process.
“I had mine today it’s layoff ..don’t worry you will be given time to download your stuff and all..” the employee wrote.
The Reddit posts come as Amazon confirmed Wednesday that it has eliminated a small number of corporate positions, primarily within its Stores organization, which oversees much of the company’s e-commerce operations.
According to a person familiar with the matter, fewer than 1,000 white-collar employees were affected by the latest cuts.
The job reductions come during Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days fall shopping event and follow a broader workforce reduction that has resulted in about 30,000 job cuts over the past year.
News of the latest layoffs began circulating Tuesday after employees shared notifications in an internal Slack channel with nearly 37,000 members.
The cuts have reportedly affected several teams within Amazon’s Stores division, including customer service, marketplace support, selling partner services and engineering. Employees in the United States, the United Kingdom and India were among those affected, according to employee communications reviewed by Business Insider and shared with Reuters.

Amazon said the changes were part of an effort to reorganize its Stores business.
“We’ve adjusted parts of our Stores business because we believe this structure will better enable us to deliver on our priorities,” an Amazon spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
The latest cuts add to a series of workforce reductions across Amazon as the company continues to reassess its staffing levels and business priorities.
Amazon Founder and Executive Chairman Jeff Bezos has previously pointed to the company’s rapid hiring during the pandemic as one reason behind workforce adjustments. During the surge in online shopping, Amazon expanded its workforce significantly to meet increased demand and handle a sharp rise in orders.
The latest employee accounts on Reddit suggest that some workers are now being notified through individual meetings, with employees discussing what documents and employment records they should secure before losing access to company systems.
