Google acquires Nest Labs — $3.2 billion
In February Google completed its buyout of Nest Labs, a company that produces smart thermostats for the consumer home market. Many ardent Apple fans were outspoken about the deal since Nest Labs’ founder, Tony Fadell, is largely considered the creator of the modern iPod.
