Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan surprised the passengers in a Mumbai local train by singing in the local trains for raising money for cancer patients.
He joined Saurabh Nimbkar, a young guitarist who plays on Mumbai local trains, to take up the cause and surprised the passengers. Nimbkar was earlier featured on ‘Aaj Ki Raat Zindagi’, a TV show hosted by Bachchan.
According to Firstpost, Bachchan boarded a local train with Nimbkar from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and travelled up to Bhandup on the Central line. The 73-year-old actor clapped along as Nimbkar strummed his guitar. He also sang a few lines from his own very popular song, Rang Barse.

Bachchan wrote on his blog that the journey was not a ‘PR exercise’ and “was executed quietly without Saurabh’s knowledge, as a surprise for him and for the many that travel daily with him.â€
According to Bachan “Saurabh Nimbkar, sitting to my left in the picture, that came on our show #AKRHZ .. plays the guitar and sings on local trains and collects the meagre money he gets from co-passengers, to distribute to the less fortunate cancer patients and their families, in the city .. his story was heartbreaking .. I felt I would want to sit by him and travel the distance he does, do what he does, in a show of support and spirit for his incredible thinking.â€
“The idea is not to create a splash among the media, or to create credible content for them, or for the subsequent promotion of the show #AKRHZ .. the idea is to let him know that he is not alone .. that he is appreciated .. that our support runs even after he departs from the Show .. to hope that many others would feel the same way as we did when we heard his story .. and perhaps that it may sufficiently light a small flame of hope for many other deeds that need to be done,†he added.
