A group of 20 renowned musicians will perform during the Urban Desi Conference and Concert 2016, which is a two-day event in the tri-state area organized by Desi in NYC on March 24 and 25.
The two-day event is sponsored by India.com and is supported by UrbanAsian.com, MYdreams, and BrownGirlMagazine.com. The conference and concert will be powered by Zing and Saavn.
According to a press release, the event will feature the live performances by musicians Raghav, Mickey Singh, Raxstar, Amar Sandhu, The PropheC, Kay V Singh, Ashni Dave, Sonia Mehta, DJ Ice, DJ Upside Down and Kaly, among others.
The Urban Desi conference will be on Thursday, March 24, at the Mint Long Island at 6:30 pm. According to the organizers, the conference will be a platform for prominent artists to share their experience with music production, marketing, branding, marketing, fashion, and lifestyle.
The concerts will be held on the second day at the BB King Blues in Times Square, New York City. at 10:30 p.m with artists of South Asian-origin performing their hit singles, as well as collaborations. They will perform together on one stage, under one roof.
The event will also feature exclusive interactive Bhangra dance lesson with Lavesh Pritmani of the Learn Bhangra App.
Monty Kataria, the founder of event and talent management company Desi in NYC and host of UDC, said he wanted to showcase all the South Asian talent in diaspora. “With the support of global superstars that we have in our line-up and our precious partners, presenters and friends in the media, it’s proof the urban desi scene is something the world should watch out for,†he said.
