Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is seeking legal action against the disclosure made by solar-scam accused Saritha S Nair who said she was sexually abused by the veteran congress politician at his official residence, the Cliff House.
Chandy, who spoke to reporters at his official residence here said, it’s rather strange that this solar scam was still surfacing even after three years.
“I am working on steps to go forward with legal measures on this. We feel this is a conspiracy and there is a mighty cash rich lobby behind these new disclosures,” said Chandy.
Nair appeared on the Asianet News channel on Sunday and confirmed that she had written the 24-page letter in 2013. But while agreeing to the contents, she refused to discuss them.
Former chief minister V.S. Achuthanandan, meanwhile, on Monday sought a fresh probe into the disclosures made in Nair’s letter, released by the TV channel on Sunday, claiming that she was sexually exploited by Chandy at his official residence.
“Chandy and his party men have caused a dent to the image that has been made in the new disclosures. He should apologise and come clean,” said Achuthanandan to reporters in Kochi.
The solar scam case surfaced when Nair and her live-in partner Biju Radhakrishnan were arrested in 2013 on charges of cheating numerous investors who paid money for solar panels.
Over 30 cases of cheating against Nair and Radhakrishnan are registered in various courts. Police estimate that they cheated investors to the tune of over Rs.6 crore.
While Nair is out on bail, Radhakrishnan is in jail on charges of murdering his first wife.
