Indiaspora, a leading community of global Indian leaders, has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump’s commitment to prioritize the US-India relationship reinforced by their strong personal rapport.
Noting that Modi’s Feb. 12-13 visit to the U.S. marks one of the earliest and most prominent diplomatic engagements of Trump’s second term, Indiaspora said it’s delighted to see the continued strong engagement at the highest levels between the United States and India.

“The significance of this timing—Prime Minister Modi being just the fourth world leader to meet with President Trump within three weeks of his inauguration—demonstrates the mutual respect and importance both nations place on their relationship,” it said in a media release.
The strength of U.S.-India relations is underscored by its broad bipartisan support in both countries, it said. “Indiaspora is particularly encouraged to see numerous Indian Americans taking on prominent roles in the new Trump administration, which reflects the diaspora’s bipartisan nature and commitment to public service across party lines.”
The bond between Modi and Trump grew strong during Trump’s first term as evidenced by their joint appearances at major public gatherings in Houston and Ahmedabad, Indiaspora said.
“While challenging topics such as trade, tariffs, and immigration policies will necessitate ongoing discussions, we welcome constructive dialogue on these important issues. Moreover, there is significant potential for collaboration on global challenges,” it said.
