Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Saudi Arabia are partnering up for a multi-billion dollar new investment. AWS and Humain, Saudi Arabia’s newly created company responsible for driving AI innovation across the kingdom and globally, today announced plans to invest over $5 billion in a strategic partnership to build a groundbreaking “AI Zone” in the kingdom.
This AI Zone is believed to be the first of its kind and is expected to bring together multiple innovative capabilities, including dedicated AWS AI infrastructure and servers with world-class semiconductors.
“We thank AWS for doubling down on their long-term partnership with the kingdom. This new collaboration with Humain lays the foundation for the intelligent era, accelerates our innovation momentum, grows our talent, and reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a global partner of choice in the age of AI,” said His Excellency Eng. This collaboration reportedly aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and builds upon the kingdom’s pledge in 2024 to invest in building an AI-powered economy, representing a significant step towards realizing Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to become a global AI leader.
In addition to boosting technological capabilities, the partnership includes plans for two innovation centers and extensive training programs. These will help develop local talent, including the AWS Women’s Skills Initiative, which aims to train 4,000 women in cloud computing. The investment is expected to attract global tech players, support startups, and create a strong foundation for AI research and applications across sectors. Overall, it represents a strategic leap in building a future-ready, tech-driven Saudi economy.
Humain AI is a Saudi government-backed artificial intelligence company established to drive the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of economic diversification and technological leadership. Supported by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Humain AI recently partnered with Amazon Web Services and Nvidia in a $5 billion initiative to create a cutting-edge AI Zone in Saudi Arabia. The project includes a 500-megawatt data center powered by Nvidia’s latest GB300 Blackwell chips, two innovation hubs, and AI training programs. As part of the broader $100 billion Project Transcendence, Humain AI aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for AI research, development, and innovation.
