AI software developer platform Replit announced that it has raised $250 million in a funding round that brought the company’s valuation to $3 billion.
Valuations for code-generation startups, or “code-gen,” have sharply risen as companies look to use AI to assist software engineers or help non-technical teams to write their own software, according to Reuters.
Replit was valued at just over $1 billion in 2023 after it raised $97.4 million. The company said its annualized revenue rose to $150 million from $2.8 million in less than a year.
The financing round was led by Prysm Capital, including Google’s AI Futures Fund and Amex Ventures as strategic investors. Existing backers including Andreessen Horowitz, and Coatue also increased their investments.
Replit plans to use the funding to use the funding to invest in research and development as well as sales and marketing.

Replit says it is differentiated from other code-gen startups because it builds vibe-coding tools for non-technical users in enterprises. Cognition, another startup focusing on building AI coders, raised over $400 million at a $10.2 billion valuation earlier this week.
“There’s a lot of competition for software engineers, but we’re seeing that people who are able to use Replit are from every part of the enterprise, from sales, HR, to operations, and that has helped them with product development cycles,” said Replit CEO Amjad Masad.
Companies using Replit to build applications include Duolingo, and Zillow. On Wednesday, Replit launched Agent 3, its most autonomous agent to date. According to the startup, Agent 3 is ten times more autonomous than previous versions with the ability to test and fix code, and to build custom agents and workflows that can automate complex or repetitive tasks for any type of work, not just software engineering.

In May 2025, another San Francisco-based code-gen startup Cursor raised $900 million at a $10 billion valuation. This firm helps users by suggesting and completing lines of code and can write sections of code autonomously.
“Replit’s vision — to empower everyone to build — strongly resonated with us. The traction with individuals, teams and enterprises has positioned Replit to be the leading agentic AI platform building custom software, agents and workflows” said Jay Park, managing partner and co-founder of Prysm Capital.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Silber, the director of the AI Futures Fund at Google said that Replit is demonstrating “what is possible with AI agents.” “We look forward to working with them to build agents using Gemini that will power the enterprise and continue bringing the benefits of Gemini to software developers,” Silber said.
